Doe’s Eat Place opens in historic Greyhound Bus Station

Doe’s Eat Place, which will occupy the historic Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Jackson, will open for business at 5 p.m., today.

Doe’s opened as a family-owned restaurant in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1941.

Famous for its porterhouse steak, Doe’s also offers fish and the restaurant has begun serving hot beef tamales.

The restaurant offers seating for 126, and a room for private dining will be available.

With the arrival of Doe’s, this will be the first time the landmark building will be in full-time operation since accepting its last Greyhound bus in October 2018.

Highlights from the October 2021 Labor Force Estimates:

The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for Tennessee decreased from 4.4 percent in September 2021 to 4.2 percent in October 2021.
During the same time period, the Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for the United States decreased from 4.8 percent to 4.6 percent.
The unemployment rate decreased in 65 counties, increased in 10 counties, and remained the same in 20 counties.
Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.2 percent.
Perry County had the highest unemployment rate at 5.3 percent.

Crumbl Cookies opens Dec. 3 in Thomsen Farms

According to a press release from Jason McGowan, Crumbl Co-Founder & CEO, Crumbl Cookies, the nation’s fastest-growing gourmet cookie delivery and takeout company, is set to take Jackson, TN by storm on December 3, 2021 with its weekly rotating menu and famous pink box.

Crumbl Cookies — Jackson will open on Friday, December 3, at 1319 Union University Drive, Suite E, in Thomsen Farms.

New restaurant – Ruby’s Family Dining – opening on Hollywood Drive

According to management, Ruby’s Family Dining – Soul Food restaurant – is scheduled to open at 1431 Hollywood Drive, January 1, 2022.

The restaurant is owned by Lawrence Henderson.

The facility has been closed since November 2017, two months after Tandoor Indian Restaurant opened for business.

West Tennessee Healtcare – Rachell Reaves named employee of the month for November

Rachell Reaves, a West Tennessee Healthcare employee for approximately three years was named the organization’s employee of the month for November.

Rachell – Visitor Ambassador, Radiology/Imaging Center – received the award during the West Tennessee Healthcare’s Board of Trustees monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Friday.
