Jackson Energy Authority Board of Directors approve 8 resolutions during monthly meeting
The Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority approved eight resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.
“The resolutions included the purchase of equipment for the electric and gas divisions along with improvements to data security across all lines while also authorizing a community economic grant for future development of the Highway 223 Industrial Park,” said Monte Jones, JEA’s chairman of the board of directors, “In addition, the board finalized discussion on a long-term TVA contract that has been under consideration and authorized JEA’s President to execute the contract.”
Tennergy Shareholders meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m., December 9, and the next JEA Board meeting will be held at the Tennergy Center at 10 a.m., December 21.

$16 million investment creating 155 new jobs in Lexington-Henderson County
LEXINGTON, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and 86 Pearson Lane, LLC officials announced the startup company will establish new manufacturing operations in Lexington.
86 Pearson Lane, a commercial heat exchanger manufacturer, will invest $16 million and create 155 new jobs as the startup company establishes operations, with Lexington as its first location.
Following the purchase of the Ayers Building, located at 15365 Highway 22 North, 86 Pearson Lane plans to expand the facility by an additional 60,000 square feet. Upon completion, the new operations should cover 120,000 square feet and is expected to be operational by early 2022.
In the last five years, TNECD has supported more than 60 economic development projects in Southwest Tennessee resulting in 10,000 job commitments and approximately $6.5 billion in capital investment.
Doe’s Eat Place opens for business November 26
Doe’s Eat Place, which will occupy the historic Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Jackson, will open for business between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Friday, November 26.

Doe’s opened as a family-owned restaurant in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1941.
It has expanded locations throughout the South, in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The eatery is famous for its porterhouse steak.
Doe’s also offers fish and the restaurant has begun serving hot beef tamales.
The restaurant – which will also have a wine bar – will offer seating for 126, and a room for private dining will be available.
With the arrival of Doe’s, this will be the first time the landmark building will be in full-time operation since accepting its last Greyhound bus in October 2018.
The station, built in 1938, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 for its
architectural significance.
The company conducts interviews from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., for all positions each Tuesday.

Marco’s opening new restaurant on South Highland Avenue
Details are limited, but Marco’s Pizza is expanding.
The restaurant will add a second location at 1683 South Highland Ave. – north of Popeyes Chicken – after Kelly Richardson purchased 1.4 acres from Brenda Matthews Bruhn Trust – Garey Matthews Winifred Trust – for $395,000.
Marco’s is also located at 1146 Vann Drive.
Eden Smith – Coldwell Banker Barnes – represented both the seller and tenant – Marco’s Pizza.
