Chyler Lee, a senior receiver for the South Side Hawks is the NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM & WNWS.COM football ‘Player of the Week,’ presented by Mann’s Wrecker and AJD Metal Designs.com.

Chyler caught seven passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns – one a 20-yard reception for the game winner in a 29-28 win over Lexington – and a date with Montgomery Central (8-2) in the first round of the Class 4A state football playoffs at South Side (5-5), Friday.

“It was a big win against Lexington, and I can’t overstate how big it is not to have to drive three hours to play our playoff game,” Chyler said, “We really wanted to make sure we stayed at home with our crowd for out next game.”

For the season, Chyler has 22 receptions for 266 yards and two touchdowns.

“It was a big region win Friday over the Lexington Tigers,” said Tyler Reeder, South Side head football coach, “We clinched second in the region and the opportunity to host a playoff game.

“We had a big night (against Lexington) on both sides of the ball, and one of those guys who gave us the opportunity to be where we are was Chyler Lee. He had seven catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns – and one those touchdowns was a game-winning catch.”
