STAR Center hosting 2nd Annual Sensory-Friendly ‘Truck-or-Treat,’ Thursday

The STAR Center to host 2nd Annual Sensory-Friendly Trunk or Treat, Thursday, October 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 1119 Old Humboldt Road, Jackson, Tennessee, 38305.

According to a press release from Cassidy Sheppard – Marketing and Events Manager – the event is free for attendees.

The STAR Center’s Sensory-Friendly Trunk or Treat facilitates a lower sensory demand on guests by providing an environment with no harsh lights nor sounds.

The children and their families can also use the event to practice the skills associated with trick-or-treating before Halloween Day.

“Our event understands that individuals with disabilities of all ages may struggle or be excluded from typical trick-or-treating due to: social skills, physical accessibility, communication, allergies, and more,” said Katlin Ross, STAR board-certified Music Therapist.

The STAR Center’s mission is to help any person with any disability realize their potential. For more information, visit https://star-center.org.
