From Joseph T. Howell –
“As the 2022 election cycle rapidly approaches, I am announcing my candidacy, as a Republican, for Circuit Court Judge, Division I, for the 26th Judicial District. While I am new to politics, I am not new to the law, the Courts or the work required to provide effective counsel. In many ways, my legal career has been an apprenticeship for this position.
“The diversity of my law practice over the last twenty-one (21) years has prepared me to be a capable, contentious and effective Circuit Court Judge.
“Over the course of my career, I have had the incredible privilege and good fortune of practicing law before and learning from some truly remarkable Judges across Tennessee. Roy Morgan stands atop that list and his appointment as a Senior Judge recognizes his commitment and contributions to the legal system.
“Judge Morgan set a standard of professionalism and dedication that I will strive to emulate. As a Juvenile Court Magistrate for Judge Christy Little, another remarkable and long standing Tennessee Judge, I have always strived to be fair but firm and have always tried to do what is just and right.
“I pledge to be a common-sense Judge that will treat the position with respect and humility. The incredible support that I have received to date, from so many sectors of the community, keeps me humble, yet extremely encouraged. I look forward to campaigning with the same enthusiasm I will bring to the bench.”
