From the Jackson Police Department –

The Jackson Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle possibly being under water in a pond near Howeston Mill Drive around 9 a.m., Sunday.

Howeston Mill Drive is located off Hopper Barker Road.

The West Tennessee Dive and Recovery Team was contacted by JPD where they responded and recovered a 2006 Jeep Liberty.

This vehicle belonged to William Brian McKenzie who was reported missing in September 2019.

Human remains were found inside the vehicle and have since been sent to the Tennessee Medical Examiners Office for autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released pending the results and identification from the autopsy.
