Madison County Sheriff’s Office introduces new K9 DNA scent dog

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office introduced a new K9 DNA scent dog in the Events Hall at the West Tennessee Regional Training Center, 317 Denmark-Jackson Road, Tuesday.

Madison County Sheriff John Mehr said this dog will be working with the “Bring the Lost Home” program, helping locate those with Alzheimer’s, lost children and missing persons.

Sheriff Mehr will announce a “Name Our Dog” contest this week while she’s still in town, and the Alzheimer’s Association is coordinating the event.

The dog returns to Florida next week to finish her training.

NOTE: Madison County Sheriff John Mehr invites you attend a special HONOR FLAG presentation this afternoon at 3:30 p.m., in the Conference room at the MCSO.

State Representative Chris Todd will be in attendance and Chris Heisler will make the presentation to Emma Dyer.  Her Father, Deputy Terry Dyer passed away April 20 while on duty. This Honor Flag will be escorted by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office’s Honor Guard.
