JACKSON Tenn (August 5, 2015) – A suspect is in custody after officers say he lead them on a chase hours earlier. Phillip Dewayne Thomas was in city court facing multiple charges.
According to police, they spotted a black Chevy Tahoe without brake lights but when they attempted to pull the vehicle over the suspect fled.
Officers pursued for over two miles on Harts Bridge Road before the chase was terminated.
The vehicle was spotted about two hours later at a fast food business on South Highland Avenue.
Thomas is charged with Evading Arrest, Simple Possession of Marijuana, several driving charges.
Thomas is also charged with resisting arrest for struggling with officers after he was detained on other charges.
Thomas is being held in the Madison County Jail
