USJ’s Ryan Rolison remains out of Albuquerque pitching rotation due to surgery to remove appendix

Colorado Rockies top pitching prospect Ryan Rolison is still sidelined after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix following a case of appendicitis in early June.

A 2016 graduate of the University School of Jackson, Rolison plays for the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

Rolison, a 24-year-old left-handed pitcher, was promoted to Triple-A in May.

Colorado selected Rolison out of the University of Mississippi with the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 MLB draft. In the 2021 season overall, he’s posted a 3-1 mark with a 3.67 ERA in six combined starts between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque.

At Triple-A, Rolison has a 1-0 mark and 4.38 ERA, allowing 11 hits in 12.1 innings pitched.
