Mike Keith ‘Voice of the Tennessee Titans’ visits Jackson Chamber Member Breakfast

Mike Keith, who serves as the ‘Voice of the Tennessee Titans,’ believes Jackson’s location and facilities made it the ideal spot when the Tennessee Titans annual caravan made its way across the state.

“It’s not just because of the passion of the fan base here,” Keith said, “To have the infrastructure of people to help us put it on, and then to get the word out to the region – to have people come in from Milan and Union City and Savannah and everywhere – because when you put a caravan together, you can’t get everywhere.”

Keith made his comments during the Jackson Chamber Member Breakfast at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton, Tuesday.

“The biggest names that we had, the quality of the stop, the amount of it was due to the fact that you had a facility (Sportsplex),” Keith said, “It was the biggest stop year in and year out … what we saw from the outside made us very impressed with Jackson.”

The caravan was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The Titans began practicing for the 2021 season in two weeks and the first preseason game is scheduled for August 13 at Atlanta.

Kyle Spurgeon, president and CEO of the Jackson Chamber, said he was happy to have an in-person meeting.

“It was really great to have everyone back out again,” Spurgeon said, “This is the first quarterly membership breakship we’ve had since COVID has relaxed. Mike Keith was here and Ryan Porter (Chamber chief operating officer/general counsel) and I talked about things we’re seeing from the Chamber’s perspective going on in the community.

Right now, we’re busier now than we have been in a decade. A lot of companies are looking at Jackson, a lot of existing industry expansions we have got to do things to make Jackson more attractive to folks to move here – the community is attractive – but we’ve got to have more housing opportunities, both family single residential and multi-family residential (homes).”
