The law firm of Pentecost, Glenn & Mauldin, PLLC, of Jackson, is pleased to announce that Nathan D. Tilly and J. Austin Stokes have been made partners with the Firm.

Mr. Tilly and Mr. Stokes each primarily practice in the areas of civil rights defense, constitutional law, governmental entity & governmental employee defense, and labor & employment law.

Nathan Tilly joined Pentecost, Glenn & Mauldin in 2014. Nathan concentrates his practice in the areas of civil rights defense, governmental tort defense, insurance defense, commercial litigation, employment law, estate planning, and probate administration.

Nathan has extensive experience representing governmental entities, small businesses, large corporations, and individuals in both state and federal courts. He has achieved victories on behalf of his clients in a wide variety of cases, including before the Tennessee Supreme Court, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Tennessee Court of Appeals.

In addition to litigating cases, Nathan administers estates in courts throughout West Tennessee, prepares wills and trusts, and provides estate planning for his individual clients. He is licensed to practice in the state of Tennessee, the United States Supreme Court, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Tennessee, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

In 2019, Nathan, as one of 35 attorneys across the state of Tennessee, completed the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law (“TBALL”) program. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Federal Bar Association Memphis/Mid-South Chapter and on the Board of Directors for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Madison County. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association.

Nathan obtained his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History from Union University. He subsequently earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Nathan lives with his wife, Rachel, and his two children, Josiah and Anna Clare. He and his family are active members at Fellowship Bible Church in Jackson.

Austin Stokes concentrates his practice on the representation of individuals, small businesses, large corporations, and governmental entities in a wide variety of cases in both state and federal court. Austin also handles various business matters, labor and employment issues, and insurance coverage disputes, and he routinely advises healthcare providers concerning contractual and regulatory matters.

He is licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee, in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Tennessee, for the Middle District of Tennessee, and for the Eastern District of Texas, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Austin obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Lambuth University, where he was a four-year starter on the football team.

Austin subsequently earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law. While at Ole Miss, Austin served as an Associate Articles Editor for the Mississippi Law Journal, as a member of the Health Care Law Transactional Competition Team, and as a student attorney for the Mississippi Innocence Project.

Austin recently completed the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law (“TBALL”) program, and he currently serves as the President of the Jackson Madison County Bar Association, as the District 13 Representative of the Tennessee Bar Association – Young Lawyers Division, and as a Board Member of the Memphis/Mid-South Federal Bar Association.

Austin and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Jackson with their two children, Will and Liza.
