‘Sea of Blue’ honors fallen MCSO and former JPD officer Terry Dyer, 8 p.m., today

From the Madison County Sheriff’s Department –

Madison County Sheriff John Mehr said, “A sea of blue lights will fill the skies in our city and county at 8 p.m., today.”

That’s when dozens of Law Enforcement vehicles will pay their respects to fallen MCSO and former JPD veteran, Terry Dyer, who died suddenly, while on duty in General Sessions court in Jackson, Tuesday.

The vehicles will line up and leave from the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson.

Here is the route and the Sheriff invites the public to participate, by attending, and to show their love and appreciation for Deputy Dyer’s service:

Leaving the Civic Center, it will proceed to South Church St. to the U.S. Highway 70 Bypass
East on East Chester St. to Paul Coffman Drive
North on Paul Coffman to Flex Drive
Flex Drive to U.S. Highway 70 Bypass
West on U.S. Highway 70 through downtown Jackson to Airways Boulevard
West on Airways Boulevard to Highway 223 (Smith Lane)
South on Highway 223 (Smith Lane) to Denmark-Jackson Road to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, 317 Denmark-Jackson Road

Visitation for Deputy Terry Dyer will be held at Arrington Funeral Directors from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday

His funeral service will be held at West Jackson Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Sunday with a Law Enforcement processional to the graveside services at the Lexington City Cemetery.

Sheriff Mehr welcomes other agencies to join in this “SEA OF BLUE,” the first for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office since the death of Deputy Rosemary Vela on September 28, 2015.
