With a need to recognize that child abuse and neglect is a serious and growing problem that changes life’s path for nearly 4 million of the nation’s children annually, Scott Conger, Mayor of Jackson, and Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris proclaimed the Month of April as ‘Child Abuse Prevention Month.’
Pam Nash – president/CEO, Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse – accepted the proclamation from Conger that mentioned the problem, which has reached epidemic proportions in all regions of this country, with no respects to racial, religious, socio-economic, or geographical boundaries, and can prevent children from following the road to a successful future.
The Exchange Club – Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is participating in national child abuse prevention month efforts through their awareness campaign with a ‘Be the Light-Prevent Child Abuse’ theme.
The presentation was made during the Jackson City Council’s monthly meeting at City Hall, Tuesday.
