The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 71-year-old female died March 22 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 220 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for seven more cases of COVID-19. We now have 11,046 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 10,745 have recovered.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 12 to 73.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Five Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
