Lytle is the first CBU women’s basketball player to earn the honor since it was established in 1982-83. On Tuesday, Lytle was also named Second Team All-American by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
The Jackson, Tenn., native finished the season as the NCAA Division II leader with 25.6 points per game. Lytle also finished the season with a career-best 6.5 rebounds per game.
On Jan. 29, Lytle scored a CBU record 45 points against Mississippi College. She also finished the season as the program’s all-time scoring leader with 1,585 points.
The WBCA presents its All-American teams in five of the six WBCA membership divisions (NCAA Divisions II, and III, NAIA, two-year college and high school). The Player of the Year and the 10-member Coaches’ All-America team in each division are selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in that division.
The D2CCA All American teams are voted on by athletics communications professionals from institutions and conference offices.
