Two Stolen Cars, A Chase With Police, Two Suspects In Custody

JACKSON, Tenn. – The two suspects Jackson Police say are responsible for weekend mayhem that include two wrecks and a brief standoff
are in custody and face multiple charges.

According to police the spree began Saturday around 9:00 a.m. when two men assaulted a victim and then stole the victim’s car. That happened at an apartment complex at 33 Carver Street.

The suspects took the stolen car into Madison County where they wrecked along Perry Switch Road.

An off-duty Jackson Police officer observed the accident and approached the vehicle but, according to police, the suspects fled. The officer took one into custody but the second escaped.

According to police, the second suspect found a car with keys in it on Roberts Lane and used it to get away.

A description was broadcast, the vehicle was spotted back in Jackson.

According to police the suspect was involved in a Hit and Run around Ray Street before wrecking the stolen car along Middle Street.

According to investigators the suspect fled on foot and barricaded himself inside a home on First Street. After a brief standoff the suspect surrendered to police without further incident.
