Kellogg adding new lines to Jackson facility

The Kellogg lines that produce Zesta and Toasteds are being moved from Mariemont, Ohio, to its Jackson plant at 1306 U.S. Highway 70, which is a producer of the nation’s supply of Pringles.

Kellogg will shut down two production lines at its Mariemont facility in Ohio, which will result in the layoffs of 165 workers – the other layoffs come via the 2019 sale of its Keebler cookie brands and Famous Amos.

According to The Cincinnati Business Journal, the national snack and cereal giant Kellogg Co. plans to lay off 250 employees at a Cincinnati plant.

The company recently announced a planned investment in capability and capacity with a new line and the reconfiguring of an existing line in Jackson, where Kellogg already makes a number of its salty snacks.

The amount of the investment or possible new jobs was not mentioned in the press release.

The changes are expected to take place by the end of 2021, will allow for future growth in the crackers segment and provide cost savings for Kellogg.
