Like most Girl Scouts, Jaelynn Jarvis-Brueggeman, troop No. 40116 of Medina, is finding the going is a little rough selling Girl Scout cookies.

The weather conditions – especially this past week – hasn’t  helped, and she and other scouts are dealing with COVID-19 guidelines.

Although her troop is small enough members can still meet in person.

“I love selling Girl Scout cookies because it is the way our troop is able to fund the fun activities we are able to do, like, earning skill badges and going to camp,” Jaelynn said, “That’s why I joined Girl Scouts in the first place. I also enjoy meeting people and talking to them about our cookies. We sell the cookies so that our troop will have money for the year.”

But customers are having trouble finding her online to order their cookies.

“Due to the fact that she cannot sell cookies like before, she is having to come up with other ways to reach the public and her past customers,” Lisa Adkins said, “She is trying to reach out to customers through various social media avenues, public radio and any way she can find.”

Lisa, a community activist, is a friend of Troop No. 40016.

“Jaelynn is also offering ordering forms to companies and businesses to offer their cookies to every employee who is interested in supporting the Girl Scouts – and then we can just deliver them all at once – easily.

“They are allowed to do safe drive through booths in their neighborhoods – Jaelynn will be having hers soon.
