Business Spotlight – Shaun Goldie joins Coffman’s Home Furnishings as vice president

Iconic West Tennessee furniture and appliance business Coffman’s Home Furnishings, Inc. has announced an addition to the leadership team. Bobby Coffman, president and a third-generation owner, has been joined by Shaun Goldie as vice president. This move follows the retirement of Bobby’s brother, Ben Coffman. Bobby said, “Adding Shaun to our team allows us to remain a family-owned business that will continue growing, thriving and serving.”

According to a press release from Dawn Bramblett – The Bramblett Group – Shaun is married to Crystal Fly Parkins Goldie, a native of Milan and cousin of Anne Marie Fly Coffman, secretary of Coffman’s Home Furnishings, Inc. The Goldies live on Green Acres Farm with their two children, who attend Jackson Christian. Green Acres is another long-time West Tennessee business; it is owned by members of Crystal’s family.

Bobby said, “After my father, Paul, served in World War II, he added furniture, appliances and televisions to the family country grocery store in the early 1950s. Coffman’s is built on his example of risk-taking, entrepreneurship and community.”

Coffman’s Home Furnishings was incorporated in 1965. It moved to north Jackson in 1982. This location has continued to grow and expand to serve the region. “We are fortunate to have Shaun’s talents helping us ensure that Coffman’s will continue being a vital part of our region’s economy for a long time,” Bobby said. “The Goldies are family, and we are glad that they have decided to invest their talents in Crystal’s West Tennessee home.”

Leaders Credit Union opening in Dyersburg

DYERSBURG, Tennessee – Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tenn., announces its newest full-service location in Dyersburg with a scheduled opening in the Summer of 2021.

According to a press release from Janet Wylie – marketing specialist – Leaders Credit Union – the new retail facility will be in the developing Dyersburg Commons shopping center located on the northwest corner of the U.S Highway 51 Bypass and Parr Avenue in front of neighboring retail stores such as Hobby Lobby, Old Navy, Marshalls, Rack Room Shoes, and Ulta.

The new Dyersburg branch marks Leaders’ ninth branch location in West Tennessee, and fourth outside of its Jackson hub. Leaders also hosts branches in Bartlett, Union City, and Milan.

Leaders President and CEO Todd Swims is a Dyersburg native and is eager to bring Leaders services to the Dyersburg market. “We look forward to being an asset in Dyer County and to leading the way on behalf of our members,” noted Swims. “I feel like I am coming home, and I want Leaders to be an integral part of fulfilling the needs of the local community.”

Jackson Beer Board fines 3 convenience stores for illegal sales

The Jackson Beer Board fined three convenience stores as the result of an underage alcohol operation conducted by Metro Narcotics in December 2020.

Speedway, 2522 Christmasville Road, Old Hickory Fuel Mart, 644 Old Hickory Blvd., and Parkway Deli, 1585 North Parkway were fined during a Show Cause meeting at City Hall, Tuesday.

Speedway was fined $500 after an employee sold beer illegally on their first day on the job; Parkway Deli was fined $1,500 – no attempt to request identification – and Old Hickory Fuel Mart – first offense – was fined $500.

Business Spotlight – Brian Kozlowski joins Town & Country REALTORS

Town & Country REALTORS warmly welcomes Brian “Koz” Kozlowski to the top-ranked residential sales team in West Tennessee.

According to a press release from Mykenzy Norman – B3 Creative Agency Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator – although Brian is new to real estate, the born-and-bred Jackson native is no stranger to running his own business, and he brings that experience and determination to Town & Country REALTORS.

Chick-fil-A scheduled for upgrade, expansion at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital

To maintain Chick-fil-A at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, the location is required to undergo regular upgrades.

Upgrades will include a new design, significant infrastructure in equipment including new service point registers with integrated digital menu boards while expanding into some existing office space.

Capital Budgeted Funds in the amount of $781,305 have been approved for the project.
