The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 63-year-old female died Dec. 30, 2020 and a 62-year-old female died Feb. 3, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 167 in Madison County – 9,694 have recovered.
The health department received positive test results for 17 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 10,567 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 12 to 73.
Epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Eight Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
