The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 84-year-old male died Jan. 17 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 159 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 59 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 9,985 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 8,736 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 3 to 101.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Twenty-six Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Seven of those patients are on a ventilator.
