Boss & Ross BBQ opens on Sand Pebble Road
Boss & Ross BBQ, 45 Sand Pebble Road, has opened.
Located off exit 85 between Pilot Travel Center and Speedway, the restaurant is open 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The menu is predicable, but owner Joe Ross said a meat-and-three will be added to the selection in the next two weeks.
Seating is available for 15 customers, and six people staff the restaurant.
Business Spotlight – Bolivar Hospital CEO appointed to AHA Rural Health Services Council
West Tennessee Healthcare is pleased to announce that Ruby Kirby, CEO of Bolivar Hospital, has been appointed to the American Hospital Association (AHA) Rural Health Services Council for a one-year term. The Rural Health Services Council plays an important role of actively advising the AHA on advocacy positions, public policy issues and rural member service strategies.
A member of the AHA Board serves as liaison to the Council to insure that its recommendations and analyses are used by the AHA Board in policy deliberations. Kirby has been with West Tennessee Healthcare since 1979, and has served in several leadership roles during her career with the health system.
“We congratulate Ruby on this important appointment. Her experience serving in rural West Tennessee hospitals and her understanding of the challenges they face will be highly valuable in her service to the Council,” said Tina Prescott, Chief Operating Officer.

Cypress Insurance Carpenter Agency begins the new year by expanding their team to add three additional members. Joining in January are Kevin Kirksey, Stephen Hauss and Tyler Thomas.
According to a press release from Lyndsay Best – B3 Creative Agency Digital Strategist & Account Coordinator – Kevin Kirksey is the Vice President of Commercial Lines Insurance. Kirksey works with businesses to guide them towards the best coverage to fit their exposure. “After spending six years in the insurance industry, I’m looking forward to using my experiences to help build our agency,” says Kirksey. “The vision of Cypress was born out of seeing an opportunity to make an insurance experience different for the insured. We will be an agency that utilizes technology to make our clients’ experiences better and information more easily accessible.”
Stephen Hauss is the Vice President of Personal Lines Insurance. Hauss guides individuals in West Tennessee towards the best home, auto, life, and health insurance. “I’m excited to join the Cypress team. Real Estate market report – Jackson & Madison County

New or existing homes for sale in Jackson in December 2020, stood at 17.
New construction homes sold January 1 through December 31, 2020 was 152.
The number of homes on the market, which includes all of Madison County through December 31 2020, stood at 86.
Average days on the market – January 1 through December 31, was 40.
The average sales price for a home in Jackson-Madison County in 2020 was $190,799.
Sports Orthopedics & Spine relocating to Stonebridge Boulevard
Sports Orthopedics & Spine, 569 Skyline Drive, is relocating to 111 Stonebridge Boulevard.
Hoyt Hayes Construction Company is renovating the 11,507-square-foot facility, that was home to Skyline Cardiovascular Institute.
Renovations are expected to be completed by late February to mid-March.
Officials with Sports Orthopedics & Spine said the existing facility on Skyline Drive has been purchased by an entity associated with West Tennessee Healthcare.
