The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 74-year-old male died Dec. 21 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 132 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 127 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 7,909 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 6,138 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 1 week to 81.
Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Twenty-five Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Five of those patients are on a ventilator.
