The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 87-year-old male died Dec. 7 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 122 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 105 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 6,816 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 5,526 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 1 to 88.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Thirty-three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Five of those patients are on a ventilator.
