STAR Center requesting stories of perseverance, hope, success & triumph

Who do you know that has a disability and gets up to go to work every day or week?

According to a press from Cassidy Sheppard – STAR Center Marketing and Events Manager – The STAR Center wants to tell stories of perseverance, hope, success, and triumph for those with
disabilities in the workforce.

Those nominated do not have to be a client or former client of The STAR Center. Our only requirement is that the nominee lives or works in the state of Tennessee.

You can submit nominations at http://icanworktoo.com

The unemployment rate for those with disabilities is more than two times higher than those
without disabilities (dol.gov). We believe that sharing stories about those with disabilities who
are successfully employed will make it easier for others to join the workforce.

“The year 2020 has been difficult for everyone. As we think about 2021, we want to
intentionally find the good and shine a spotlight on it,” said Dave Bratcher, President of The
STAR Center.

Limited spots are available for this project. Submit nominations at http://icanworktoo.com. The
nomination period is December 1 through December 31, 2020.

The STAR Center’s mission is to help any person with any disability realize their potential. For
