Former 84 Lumber Company building on Country Club Lane sells for $1 million +

Details are limited but a facility once occupied by 84 Lumber Company, 1330 Country Club Lane, has been sold.

Pierce Hardy Limited Partnership sold the property to Shree Ramesth Jackson LLC, for $1,025,000.

Cracker Barrel applying for beer permit for Jackson restaurant, Tuesday

Cracker Barrel, which has started selling and serving alcoholic beverages at a majority of its restaurants, will apply for a beer permit for selling, storing and selling on the premises where sold for its Jackson location, 188 Vann Drive, at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, when the Jackson Beer Board holds its monthly meeting at the City Council Conference Room at City Hall.

The Foundation raises $150,000 for Ayers Children’s Medical Center and Kirkland Cancer Center

Unable to host its largest annual fundraiser – the 31st Annual Charity Gala – the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation still found a way to raise $150,000 to divide between the Ayers Children’s Medical Center and the Kirkland Cancer Center.

Due to the pandemic, the Foundation took to the airwaves to solicit funds to help provide for the support of care of patient needs for those unable to pay for their care.

“We are grateful to our amazing donors that helped us reach this amazing goal, during this COVID year,” Frank McMeen said, “Exceeding our goal of $150,000 allows us to continue our support for the children at Ayers Children’s Medical Center and the patients and the Kirkland Cancer Center.”

Frank McMeen, the president of the Foundation, joined Bill White, Chair of the Board, in presenting the checks during the West Tennessee Healthcare’s Board of Trustees monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County Hospital, Tuesday.

“We are grateful to Grace Media Group – News/Talk 101.5 FM and 93.1 FM – for making the radiothon possible,” McMeen said, “Delta Dental provided the $50,000 challenge gift and Voya Financial helped us to reach beyond the $100,000 mark and reach the $150,000 goal.”

Stein Mart officially  closes West Towne Commons location

Stein Mart, 175 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons, officially closed its doors, Monday.

The Jacksonville, Florida-based retailer announced in August it had filed for Chapter 11, and liquidation sales started.

With about 300 stores, Stein Mart was known for brand names in fashion for men and women, unique home décor and gifts.

WTH – Kathy Joslin named employee of the month

Kathy Joslin, an employee at West Tennessee Healthcare for over 21 years, has been named the organization’s employee of the month for October.

Kathy – program manager, Therapy & Learning – was presented the award by Teresa Freeman, vice president, CNO, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital; Deena Kail, executive director, Women & Children’s Services and Ron Kwasigroh, director, Therapy & Learning Center, when the Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.

According to Kathy’s coworkers, she is “An incredibly gifted manager and clinician who is adored by all at the Therapy and Learning Center, concentrating on outreach school therapy.”

Buchanan Realty Group brokers sale of Vann Drive shopping center for $1.5 million +

Jackson, Tenn. — Stan Clampitt with Buchanan Realty Group has sold a shopping center located at 865 Vann Drive for $1,540,000.

According to a press release from Summer Paris – Paris Creative Agency – the center is a 10,000 square foot building that is fully leased by six tenants including Beauty World, Victory Vapor, Nana’s Unique Children’s Boutique, Let’s Wax It and NiceLoans! The property is located on .89 acres on Vann Drive between Wendy’s and Lowes.

“We are still finding stable investments for our clients despite the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Brandon Buchanan, Buchanan Realty Group principal broker. “The current climate will eventually change and our buyers are looking for investment opportunities that will serve them well in the future.”

Stan Clampitt represented the buyer in the transaction.
