Madison County saw an unprecedented turnout for a first day of early voting.

There were 1,815 ballots cast. Combining the votes cast at nursing homes and assisted living facilities along with the absentee ballots already cast, a total of 3,274 votes have been cast in this election which represents 5% of the 63,105 registered voters in Madison County.

Early voting will continue through October 29. Early voting hours are from 9 a.m.. – 4 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. to noon on the two Saturdays during the period.

On the last two days of early voting, October 28 and 29, the voting hours will be from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The early voting location is at 311 North Parkway in Jackson. You must present a photo ID issued by the State of Tennessee or the U.S. government.
