The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 76-year-old female died Oct. 1 and a 65-year-old male died Sept. 21 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 68 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 16 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 3,147 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 2,870 recovered.
The newest confirmed cases include 7 males, 9 females, and range from ages 5 to 70.
Epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. None of those patients are on a ventilator.
