The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 71-year-old female died Aug. 27 due to complications from COVID-19. That brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 66 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 16 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 3,077 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 2,654 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 8 males, 8 females, and range from ages 14 to 95.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Five Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. None of those patients are on a ventilator.
