The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 90-year-old female died Aug. 28 and a 90-year-old male died Sept. 12 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 55 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 27 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,628 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 2,206 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 12 males, 15 females, and range from ages 11 to 90.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Fourteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
