CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) announced its 2020 Academic Achievement Award winners. The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 13th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. To be recognized, student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA and at least a junior.
The Academic Achievement Awards recognized 38 Union University student-athletes.
Union’s honorees included Ryan Mets, Cooper Bullough, Brandon Maxwell, Caleb Allen, Ronald Ayabei, Michael Drury, Cal Templeton, Iudy Lopes, Casper Nyberg, Jacob Greene, Parker Miller, Euan Morton, Cole Asfour, Jada Smith, Miracle Gray, Elli Pratt, Jordan Meadors, Gabbie Stevens, Rebecca Tankersley, Amanda Leatherwood, Anna Venckus, Austen DeLoach, Candace Haney, Alli Herring, Taylor Knight, Tiffany Linser, Brooke Watson, Jaya Wilson, Madison Wirth, Samantha Jones, Taylor Manley, Ashten Petty, Sarah Smith, Molly McKelvy, Kristen Bukowsky, Audrey Cagle, Meghan Delaney, and Anna Claire Winchester.
In total, there were 15,315 student-athletes from 201 institutions recognized for the 2019-20 Academic Achievement Awards. These numbers shattered the records for highest number of participating institutions and the largest number of student-athletes being nominated since the award program’s inception.
