The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 86-year-old female died Aug. 26 and a 73-year-old male died Aug. 29 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 43 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 32 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,237 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County 1,775 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 17 males, 15 females, and range from ages 11 months to 88.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-seven Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Four of those patients are on a ventilator.
