The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 71-year-old male died Aug. 23 and an 85-year-old male died Aug. 24 due to complications from COVID-19. We now have 37 COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 16 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,061 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,669 recovered.
The newest confirmed cases include 9 males, 7 females, and range from ages 1 to 82.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Twenty Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.
