The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 90-year-old female died Aug. 20 and an 80-year-old female died Aug. 10 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 33 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 35 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 1,960 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,459 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 16 males, 19 females, and range from ages 8 to 74.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
