BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.- The Brownsville Haywood County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors issued a news release today reporting that they are looking for a new Executive Director. The board voted to release Rene Moss, according to Gem Bell who is the chamber’s president. Moss has been the director for the last three years.
“We wish Rene Moss the best of luck in her future endeavors and the Board of Directors will begin the process to interview and hire a new Chamber Director that will be a good fit for their new approach on recruiting businesses and industry,” the release states.
Bell told Brownsville Radio that directors believe Moss wasn’t the right fit as they renew efforts to be “more aggressive and proactive” in efforts to grow Brownsville’s business and industry.
Exactly when the chamber will begin accepting applications isn’t precisely clear, but Bell said it will be right away. Directors are focusing on job requirements. Presently the director’s job pays $35,000 per year but Bell said the pay is also being examined.
