From the Jackson-Madison County Health Department –
The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 88-year-old male died Aug. 15 due to complications from COVID-19. That brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 30 in Madison County.
We received positive test results for 34 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 1,765 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,298 recovered.
The newest confirmed cases include 15 males, 19 females, and range from ages 9 to 88.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Seventeen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
