JACKSON Tenn – A man in court Friday is accused of stealing a pair of flip-flops from a Jackson dollar store.

Jackson police say according to an employee at the store a man dressed as a woman stole a pair of black flip-flops valued at about $6 from a dollar store on South Royal Street.

Police say security video captured the incidents.

Investigators say Patrick Merriweather was identified as a suspect. An employee of the store identified him from a photo lineup.

Merriweather is charged with theft under $500. He is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond at the Madison County Jail.
