Johnny Jones, the first 1,000 yard rusher in the history of the University of Tennessee football, visits Joe Holloway and Jimmy Butler on ‘Saturday’s Sports Roundup,’ from 10 a.m. to noon on NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM & WNWS.COM.
A native of Munford, Jones rushed for 1,290 yards and 10 touchdowns on 229 attempts in 1984, breaking the school’s single-season record for rushing yards he had set the previous year. He led the SEC in rushing yardage, and was fifth in the nation.
Coach Joe and Jimmy will also interview Matthew Gillespie, the assistant executive director of the TSSAA, about the 2020 high school football season.
