Two people were killed and two were injured after a vehicle they were passengers in collided with a dump truck on U.S. Highway 45 South near South Elementary School, Wednesday.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Jackson residents Fannie Shaw, 66, and Brittany Curry, 29, were killed in the accident, after their vehicle and the dump truck – both southbound – collided in the travel lanes.

The THP said the accident remains under investigation.

The THP was assisted by the Medical Center EMS, Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Madison County Fire Department.
