Health Department confirms 7th COVID-19 death in Madison County; 598 total cases; up 46 from Thursday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 46 more confirmed cases of COVID-19. We now have 598 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

A 62-year-old male died Thursday to due to complications from COVID-19.

The newest confirmed cases include:

  • 30-year-old male (unknown hospitalization)
  • 60-year-old male (hospitalized)
  • 63-year-old male (unknown hospitalization)
  • 83-year-old female (unknown hospitalization)
  • 36-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 25-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 64-year-old female (unknown hospitalization)

Our Epidemiology staff is still trying to contact some of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. We are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.

Ten Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

Four hundred one Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19, and 34 people say they are feeling better.
