Scott Chandler, City of Jackson engineer, resigns

Scott Chandler an engineer with the City of Jackson, has resigned.

Chandler’s wife Carmen posted the following comment on her Facebook page.

“We have spent the pandemic in the most unusual way! First, we thought we were committing to Jackson and purchased a home to make into our forever home. We occupied our time with packing/unpacking, renovating, and settling into our new home. However, God had different plans.

“It became abundantly clear that Jackson was not where we are suppose to be. The climate at Scott’s workplace has become increasingly uncertain and unwelcoming. This prompted Scott to put his resume out in the world. Much to our chagrin, Abilene, Tx came calling. Scott is so excited to find a positive and healthy place of work. Abilene has opened its heart and home to us and we are thrilled to be relocating in August!!!”

An email from the City of Jackson stated “We do not comment on personnel matters.”
