The largest water tank on Jackson Energy Authority’s water system remains under construction near Airport Industrial Park.
A date of completion has not been announced, but the cost for the 2.5 million gallon elevated tank is estimated at $4.5 million.
It is scheduled to serve current water needs and provide for future growth in the area.
The tank column is being constructed of reinforced concrete and the tank/bowl is being constructed of steel.
The painting is similar to other JEA water tanks.
The last elevated water tank was built on Crawford Springs Road in 1999.
