There is a petition online that seeks the removal of Madison County Sheriff John Mehr.
According to community activist Tracy Boyd, Sheriff Mehr needs to be removed for budget reasons. The petition was created following a request for more money to be added to the Madison County Sheriff Department budget.
According to the petition on change.org Sheriff Mehr is “hogging the budget.”
