An opening date for a new dog park, located beyond right field at The Ballpark at Jackson, has not been announced, but it does have a name – The Dr. Vicki Schneider Lake Dog Park.
“I am completely honored, but shocked,” Vicki Schneider Lake said, “I’m very flattered. But I want to thank the Randy Boyd Foundation for the funding, and (Jacksonian) Harrison Forbes, who advised us during the application process.”
Vicki is the director of community development at West Tennessee Healthcare.
The ‘Dog Park Dash Grant’ is a program that was funded by The Randy Boyd Foundation, and awarded $25,000 grants to communities across Tennessee.
Numerous cities in Tennessee applied for the lone $100,000 grand prize award, but Jackson was selected.
The grant was a collaborative project of the City of Jackson, the Jackson Generals, Visit Jackson TN and the Jackson Chamber.
The 11 acre park includes areas for small and large dogs with agility courses and water features.
