Protests that started in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd, who died Monday while being arrested by Minneapolis police, have spread nationwide and reached Jackson, with about 100 people gathering in front of City Hall, Saturday.
Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was pinned down by a white police officer who held his knee to Floyd’s neck. The incident was recorded on cellphone video that went viral, sparking outrage nationwide.
