Suspect charged in April 22 road rage incident

Jackson Police have arrested and charged twenty-year-old Cyandra D. Reed with Attempted First Degree Murder for her involvement in the road rage incident that occurred on April 22nd in the area of the 45 Bypass and Channing Way.

On April 22nd around 12:50 p.m., officers of the Jackson Police Department responded to an incident involving gun fire on the 45 Bypass and Channing Way. Officers who responded to the scene were advised that the occupants of a vehicle had shot into another vehicle. Responding officers located the victim of the incident who had sustained non-life threatening injuries and damage to his vehicle from the gunfire. The victim and witnesses advised officers that the shooter was traveling in a red or maroon colored 4 door Infiniti which continued South on the 45 Bypass.

The next day, April 23rd, the police department received a “tip” from a citizen who advised the possible tag number of the suspect vehicle. After a thorough investigation and assistance from the victim, witnesses, and the community the occupants of the suspect vehicle were identified and interviewed by Jackson Police Investigators.

The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a perceived road rage situation that occurred while both vehicles were traveling South on the 45 Bypass.

The investigation is ongoing and charges against the other occupant in the suspect vehicle are pending.
