From the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department –

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department was notified today of the first confirmed COVID-19 death in Madison County.

The patient died Thursday, April 16 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Madison County.

We now have a total of 93 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The most recent cases include:

55-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
28-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)
77-year-old female (hospitalized)

Our epidemiology staff is still trying to reach some of these patients, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time.

We are also reaching out to people who had contact with these patients.
