MADISON Co, Tenn. (May 19, 2015)– Three men suspected of attempting to burglarize a residence are in custody because of a homeowner’s quick thinking.

Tuesday morning a call came in to Madison County dispatcher Jennifer Brandon The caller told Brandon that three men were trying to break in her home.

Tom Mapes, Sheriff’s spokesperson, said the victim remained calm and gave dispatchers a good description. According to Mapes the victim, an elderly woman, screamed at the would-be thieves and startled them so bad the ran out of the house.

Mapes said, not only did she scare them away, but her quick action helped deputies get the suspects within minutes. The more information a victim or witness can give us the more information we can pass on to our deputies,said Mapes.

The names of the three suspects was not released. All three are expected to face multiple charges.
