With a target date for completion set for March 2021, construction continues on the De’ Greaun ReShun Frazier TBI Crime Laboratory & Regional Headquarters at 350 Smith Lane.
TBI Special Agent De’ Greaun Frazier died in the line of duty during an undercover operation in Jackson, Aug. 9, 2016.
He was hired by the TBI in 2016 and worked in the Drug Investigation Division.
Prior to working at the TBI, Frazier had 15 years of public safety service with several law enforcement departments, including the Millington Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
Located south of McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, the new crime lab and regional headquarters will consist of 49,000-square-feet, and the the total project budget – building and equipment – is $26 million.
The new crime lab and regional headquarters is expected to create about 100 new jobs.
The facility will be more convenient, more centrally located for West Tennessee Law Enforcement, and it will be quicker and easier to get evidence there.
