Early voting begins on Wednesday, February 12, for the Presidential Preference Primary and Madison County local primaries for Assessor of Property.
Early voting will be held, as usual, in the auditorium in the Madison County Agricultural Complex located at 311 North Parkway in Jackson.
The days for early voting will be from February 12 through February 25.
The exception will be February 17, when early voting will be closed in observance of the President’s Day which is a state holiday. Voting hours on weekdays will be from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. – Saturday hours will be from 9 a.m. until noon.
This election is a state and local primary. You must indicate on your application whether you want to vote in the Republican Primary or the Democratic Primary. You cannot vote in both primaries during this election. The sample ballot may be viewed at www.madisonelections.com .
In order to vote you must present a photo ID that was issued by the State of Tennessee or the United States Federal Government. While many Tennesseans are obtaining the REAL ID or “Gold Star” ID for their State of Tennessee driver’s license, it IS NOT necessary to have this ID to vote.
The standard Tennessee driver’s license will still be accepted as long as it has the photograph.
